A report by Euromonitor shows some long-term and short-term implications that lockdowns have had on buying patterns. Consumers were forced to rethink their priorities, shift consumption, and adopt new habits. Various reports also show that consumers are shopping online more and more for appliances as they practice social distancing.
As for larger home appliances, such as refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, dryers, and the like, the pandemic actually has influenced purchasing trends for some of those. For example, Do-It-Yourself projects have gained ground amidst stay-at-home orders, including decorating, cooking, sewing, and arts and crafts.

Baking is reported to be one of the top kitchen hobbies that have increased – as was proven by a recent Nilsen report. In fact, the report showed that sales of yeast for baking were up 650% for the week that ended March 21, when compared to sales at the same time last year.
And where there’s more baking, there’s bound to be more appliances – and more appliance repairs.
